Advice to “hard-to-place” job seekers is effective

We just put out new work extending our earlier method for suggesting new occupations during job search to individuals with very difficult labor markets: For the long-term unemployed we see massive improvements by 20%-40% when the advice is integrated into the job search engine (study with moderate sample size), while we see still around 6% long-term improvements for individuals who search in occupations with relatively few vacancies even when advice is just sent by message (large sample).
